As theMarketing Manager in the Office of Communications for Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, you will play a central role in telling Trinity's story-amplifying academic excellence, supporting student recruitment and engagement, and advancing the college's reputation within Duke and beyond.

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Communications and Marketing, you will serve as a strategic marketing partner across Trinity's diverse academic community, which includes more than 40 academic departments and units spanning the Arts & Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. You will collaborate closely with communications colleagues, faculty, administrators, and central university partners to ensure marketing efforts are audience-centered, data-informed, and aligned with Trinity and Duke University brand standards.

What You'll Do:

Marketing Strategy & Planning



  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies that advance Trinity College's visibility, reputation, and enrollment goals in alignment with the college's strategic ambitions.
  • Lead and support marketing initiatives for undergraduate and graduate programs serving both Duke and non-Duke students, with a focus on increasing awareness, generating demand, and improving enrollment conversion.
  • Partner with academic and administrative stakeholders to align messaging, timelines, and outreach channels.


Campaign Development & Execution



  • Plan and coordinate multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, email, web, print, and paid media, as appropriate for target audiences and goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external content creators, designers, and digital specialists to deliver compelling, on-brand marketing assets.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities, timelines, and deliverables.


Research, Analysis & Optimization



  • Conduct and apply market research, audience analysis, and performance reporting to inform strategy and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, enrollment trends, and audience engagement, and recommend data-driven optimizations.
  • Stay current on trends in higher education marketing, enrollment marketing, and digital communications.

Required Qualifications



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Four years of related experience in marketing, communications, or planning.
  • Experience in higher education is beneficial but not required.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns, ideally within higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Ability to translate institutional priorities into audience-centered marketing strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to inform decision-making.
  • Familiarity with SEO, accessibility standards, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Insights).
  • Experience with Slate or another admissions management or customer relationship management platform.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable design tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Emma or Mailchimp and knowledge of email marketing best practices.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Airtable, Trello, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated success working on cross-functional communications or marketing teams.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $61,535.00 to USD $95,880.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
