POSITION SPECIFICS

The Office of Online Education Marketing and Strategy is looking for a communications professional to serve as a Marketing and Communications Specialist, to help design and execute the internal communications strategies for Penn State Online Education and World Campus. As a member of a cross-functional marketing unit, the successful candidate in this role will help manage the internal communications content for greater sharing of information with the entire organization through emails, newsletters, intranets, and webinar facilitation. Their contributions will support organizational culture goals of the strategic plan, structure, and amplify awareness and engagement within staff and support units.

Reporting to the Director of Content and Communications Strategy at Penn State World Campus, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will coordinate editorial oversight and production of internal communications, manage both strategic and execution-level tasks, and implement multi-faceted marketing and communications strategies.

This position will take a proactive approach to working with World Campus teams to understand their priorities, responsibilities, and goals.

They will translate that information into communications plans, collaborate with fellow communications staff on the publication of newsletters, webinars, news releases, and intranets highlighting unit activities to support administrative and institutional communications priorities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

Preferred qualification:

  • This position requires exceptional attention to detail, both editorially and regarding data accuracy as well as proven successful experiences in client management and diplomacy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, team building/cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proven ability to adapt content to different marketing platforms are a must.

  • Strong understanding of Office365, especially SharePoint, webinar tools (Zoom), and work management systems.

  • Experience with multimedia content development and curation, Salesforce, and email marketing solutions (Constant Contact) is valued strongly.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
