Project Manager - Business Process Improvement
Job Summary: The Project Manager for Business Process Improvement will support the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and lead cross-functional initiatives to strengthen and modernize cybersecurity operations and organizational effectiveness by driving business process improvements, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing streamlined workflows across mission areas. The role involves defining and enhancing business processes related to technology enhancements that include the adoption of modern tools and systems that improve security posture and operational performance, while also advancing workflow automation to reduce manual effort, increase accuracy, and accelerate response times. Additionally, the Project Manager will support strategy and planning by aligning initiatives with CISA's mission priorities, developing implementation roadmaps, and tracking progress against strategic objectives. The position will also contribute to enhancements in human capital business processes through workforce planning, operational reporting, and analytics that provide leadership with actionable insights and performance metrics, ensuring informed decision-making and continuous mission improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive business process improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing streamlined, standardized workflows across cyber operations.
- Coordinate technology enhancement efforts and the adoption of new tools and systems that improve security posture, data integration, and operational performance.
- Implement workflow automation to reduce manual effort, increase accuracy, and accelerate response times in mission-critical environments.
- Support strategy and planning by aligning projects with CISA's mission priorities, developing roadmaps, and tracking progress against strategic goals.
- Enhance human capital outcomes through workforce planning, training coordination, and optimizing team structures for mission delivery.
- Deliver operational reporting and analytics related to business processes, providing leadership with actionable insights, performance metrics, and dashboards to inform decision-making.
- Responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing business and process improvement projects to ensure timely completion, adherence to budget, and fulfillment of specified objectives and requirements. Ensure projects align with organizational goals, deliver value, and meet stakeholders' expectations. Navigate complex challenges and communicate effectively to help bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Define project scope, objectives, and requirements in coordination with other Threat Hunting sections and stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Maintain project documentation, prepare progress reports and ensure all project information is accurately reported and communicated.
- Regularly review and analyze current workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Implement improvements to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for recurring project management tasks, ensuring consistency and helping new team members quickly understand and follow established processes.
- Provide team leadership and staff oversight while fostering career growth by delivering feedback that aligns strong business outcomes with individual professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)
- 10+ years of experience in a management consulting or in a project management role
- Experience in IT, cybersecurity, or national security related field
- Experience leading multi-month projects, especially IT product management
- Experience using Jira, ServiceNow, MS Project, MS Planner or other similar project management tools
- Experience developing briefings, analyzing trends in large data sets, and providing strategic recommendations on business processes and workflows
- Proficiency in information and collaboration technologies such as Microsoft Planner, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint to evaluate, create, store, and communicate information.
- Experience leading strategy discussions, presenting project status updates, and proposing solutions to senior managers or senior government clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customers.
- Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills.

- Ability to obtain a U.S. government public trust and/or security clearance, if required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Management, Information Technology, or Organizational Management
- Current DHS or CISA Entry on Duty (EOD) status
- Experience in federal government consulting and contracting
- Experience or interest in cloud security
- PMP or other industry certification
Federal Contracts: This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Salary Range: $115K - $130K
