Description

The Senior Mechanical Designer should have a working understanding of process and application for oil field equipment such as separators, meters, launchers/receivers, valves, etc. Must also have advanced knowledge and skill set with 3D Modeling programs and mechanical design of piping systems. Must have the ability to develop project design drawings in conformance with scope of work, specifications, design parameters, codes, and industry practices. E/I experience with electrical and control systems beneficial.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Producing mechanical / piping 3D Models, detail drawings, P&IDs for bid, construction and as-built packages.
  • Prepare Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's)
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Assist in the development of company standards and procedures
  • Perform design and drafting check of drawings, revise as required
  • Participate in design reviews, when required
  • Monitor the design/drafting progress and report to PM
  • Proactively anticipate problems during execution of the design process and mitigate before they occur.
  • Check drawings for accuracy and completeness
  • Apply and review company D&D Standards
  • Utilize Drawing Management Program for drawing continuity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings (E/I, P&IDs, PFDs, Piping)
  • Excellent Problem-Solving skills: define/understand the problem, identify constraints, work towards the best possible solution.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required education

  • Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree or Technical Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 5-8 years' experience in 3D Piping, Civil, Structural design and drafting
  • E/I experience a plus.
  • Experience in oil and gas industry, prefer pipeline and related facilities (pump stations, compressor stations, meter sites, etc.)

Software:

  • Proficient using AutoCAD 2021, CADWorx 3D and CADWorx P&ID, proficient using complete Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Adept and/or Vault - Drawing management system.
