Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Weld Prep Technician will support welders by using associated equipment, visual aids and work instructions.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Monitor production machines, equipment, and tools and alert maintenance if machines malfunction.
• Visually inspect parts for accuracy utilizing approved drawings.
• Operate equipment for each area (Ex. drill presses, grinders, saws and other related equipment, etc.) to aid welders.
• Contribute to the overall success of the company by performing all assigned duties in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through production management.
• Record any production data and/or complete final production paperwork.
• Perform quality audits and notify Production Manager of findings.
• Communicate problems and concerns to off shift operator, Cell Leader, Production Foreman, or Production Manager as needed.

Preferred Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years' experience with shop equipment such as welding machines, positioners, drill presses, grinders, saws and other related equipment.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.48 per hour
