Position Announcement

Supervises Additions, Remodels and Improvements, Project Manager, GIS, Landscape Department, and Fire and Life Safety. Maintains facility plans and project files. Acts as campus chief safety officer and campus fire marshal. Prepares budgets and keeps records on each department.


Responsibilities

  • Perform construction management duties that include design and implementation of campus construction and renovation projects from concept to completion.
  • Develop project specifications, cost estimates and bid documents for construction and renovation projects and awards bids.
  • Inspect work by outside contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and code compliance.
  • Provide technical knowledge, guidance and assistance in development and production of construction documents and plans.
  • Utilize automated design software and various drafting instruments in updating, development and modification of construction documents (i.e., reports, correspondence, construction details and special projects).
  • Maintain campus as-built drawings with GIS database.
  • Participate in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and-long range campus planning issues.
  • Prioritize assigned tasks in accordance with established project schedules and performs duties in a manner to minimize disruption of routine school studies.
  • Supervise additions, remodels and improvements within Facilities Managements projects, as well as the FM Project and Landscape Manager.
  • Acts as the campus Fire Marshal and supervises the fire and life safety department.
  • Maintain campus standards, code inspections, and project compliance inspections.
  • Work day-to-day with Landscape and Grounds Manager to help as needed with running a successful department.
  • Work day-to-day with Fire and Life Safety Officer to ensure campus events are safe, campus fire systems are tested and safely operating, campus hazmat waste is disposed of and any campus safety issues are addressed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Facilities Management, or related field required; Master's degree in Business or related field required.
  • At least five years' related experience required.
  • Fire Inspector 1 certification or ability to complete within 12 months.
  • General knowledge of construction practices, international building code and fire codes; experience with commercial construction preferred.
  • Ability to produce, interpret and file general facilities' plans and specifications.
  • Experience with budget estimates for construction projects.
  • Excellent supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills; knowledge of CAD drafting systems and GIS preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish / maintain effective working relations with students, employees, and the public.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $95,000+ depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of May/June 2026.
