What to Expect
Tesla's industrial energy storage fleet - Megapack, Megapack 2XL, and the next-generationMegablock- is deployed at hundreds of utility-scale sites worldwide, representingmultiple gigawatt-hours of grid infrastructure. At this scale, things inevitably can... drift? Go wrong? As a Sr. TPM on the Deployed Product Lifecycle (DPL) team within Service Engineering, you'llown the end-to-end lifecycle ofcampaigns for Tesla's industrial energy products. That means definingat-riskpopulations fromcomplexmanufacturing and fleet data, driving root-cause analysis with design engineersand field-deployed engineers, coordinating corrective actions acrosscross-functional teams, and making sure everyunit in the fielddelivers on its promise to our customers. This is not a status-tracking role. You'lldigdeep into risks and problems, interrogatedata, and make technical judgment calls onstrategy. You'llpresent directly to senior engineering leadership and partner closely with field operations teams deploying fixes acrossthe globe.
What You'll Do
Own industrialcampaigns from population definition through field execution and completion - including material readiness, service procedure development, customer notification, and service campaign work order management Partner with Design Engineering and Reliability Engineering on root-cause analysis, failure mode identification, and containment decisions for Megapack platform issues Build andvalidatecampaign populations using fleet telemetry, asset management systems, and manufacturing execution systemrecords -determiningfixed vs. open populations and managing partial releases Drive cross-functional alignment across Service Software, Field Operations, Industrial Engineering, Material Planning, Training & Procedures, and EHS on campaign readiness Own service readiness for new industrial product introductions through Tesla's gated process - coordinating 100+ deliverables across documentation, parts, training, tooling, diagnostics, systems, safety, and quality RepresentService Engineering and Operationsin ChangeManagementforums, making go/no-go recommendations grounded in data Identifysystemic gaps in product validation, service procedures, or field tooling - and drive sustainable fixes, not just campaign patches
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, quality engineering, or a related technical role (8+ preferred) Ability to go deep on technical problems: you can read a failure analysis report, interpret telemetry data, and form your own view on root cause - not just relay what engineers tell you Workingproficiencyin SQL -you'llquery production and fleet databases regularly, not occasionally Track recordof driving cross-functional programs in fast-moving environments where scope, priority, and org structure shiftfrequently Strong written and verbal communication -you'llpresent campaign status and risk to senior engineering leadership weekly Comfort with ambiguity: campaigns often start with incomplete data, evolving populations, and unclear rootcause. You drive clarity, not wait for it Experience with energy storage, power electronics, battery systems, or utility-scale infrastructure Background in automotive, aerospace, or other hardware industries with reliability engineering or campaign management processes Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and data visualization tools PMP,PgMP, or equivalent certification
