We are seeking a motivated, leadership-oriented candidate to join our team as an Assistant Home Equity Manager at our Auburn Hills Mortgage Office.

In this role, you will play a vital part in our Real Estate Lending department, providing guidance to our processing team and ensuring our members receive the high-quality service they expect from Genisys.

Position Purpose: Responsible for assisting with all aspects of home equity operations-including origination, processing, and closing-while providing leadership, coaching, and support to Home Equity personnel.

Job Duties (include but not limited to):

  • Team Leadership: Supervising department staff, conducting weekly meetings, and performing performance appraisals to help team members reach their full potential.

  • Operational Excellence: Monitoring home equity queues and developing best practices to improve turn times and streamline the overall mortgage pipeline.

  • Training & Coaching: Overseeing the training for new processors and facilitating ongoing coaching for existing employees and branch staff.

  • Member Advocacy: Maintaining regular contact with members, attorneys, and insurance agents to resolve account issues and ensure a smooth closing process.

  • Compliance & Auditing: Performing file audits and ensuring all loan policies, procedures, and products meet federal and state regulations, including BSA/AML standards.

  • Strategic Growth: Working with senior management to develop production goals that align with the Credit Union's annual Strategic Plan.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Five years of related experience in lending or mortgage operations.

  • Administrative and supervisory experience required.

  • Real Estate experience strongly preferred.

  • Ability to become and remain 100% bonded.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and project management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Well-organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Thorough knowledge of mortgage products and government lending regulations.

  • Proficiency with PC and basic business equipment.
