Job Title: Facilities/ Mechanical Technician Duration: 6 Months Possible Extension Location: Charlotte, NC 28269 Shift: 1st Pay Rate: $22-25/hr. on w2 without benefits Note: How many years of experience in facilities or mechanical maintenance in a lab, industrial, or manufacturing environment? Do you have certification in EPA 608 Universal? Candidates with Facilities/Maintenance/HVAC or Mechanical technician exp will work. Role & Responsibilities: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lab infrastructure, mechanical systems, and HVAC test equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and other mechanical components. Support installation and commissioning of new lab systems, including mechanical hookups and calibrations. Conduct safety inspections of lab utilities: chilled water, compressed air, refrigerant systems, and electrical interfaces. Maintain service logs, PM records, and inventory of tools and parts. Follow and enforce LOTO and safety protocols in accordance with Carrier and regulatory standards. Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and compliant. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting background, and be mechanically inclined. 3+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools. Mechanical skills. Moving/lifting weights up to 35 lbs. Preferred Qualifications: EPA 608 Universal Certification (a plus). Experience with HVAC/R test labs or environmental chambers. Forklift or overhead crane certification.
