JOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Finance Director will set the overarching vision and strategy within finance, shaping policies and practices that affect the entire organization. This role will work at the senior leadership level to refine or create wide-ranging processes and financial frameworks, ensuring they align with long-term corporate goals. Handling abstract or unpredictable challenges, this role will anticipate market trends, industry shifts, and internal business changes. The leadership of this position extends across multiple finance functions or divisions, and decisions will significantly influence the company's success for years to come.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting and Reporting

  • Set the global accounting and reporting vision, ensuring alignment with complex regulatory demands and investor expectations.

  • Drive enterprise-level decisions on system implementations and consolidations to promote transparency and scalability.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Champion innovative AP/AR platforms and processes that position the company for sustainable growth.

  • Negotiate and finalize major contractual agreements with key vendors or strategic partners, optimizing working capital.

Controlling

  • Shape the enterprise controlling philosophy, merging financial insight with corporate strategy.

  • Identify and drive cross-functional initiatives to streamline resource allocation and maximize profitability.

Finance Audit

  • Partner with executives and board members to define the overarching audit and risk management structure.

  • Influence major corporate governance decisions, ensuring that audit findings align with long-term strategic objectives.

Financial Planning

  • Orchestrate the top-tier planning process, forecasting financial performance across multiple business lines.

  • Develop scenario analyses for executive leadership, guiding major investment decisions and corporate growth plans.

Tax

  • Lead international tax strategy, working with global advisers to navigate complex cross-border issues.

  • Formulate policies and structures that minimize global tax burden while ensuring complete legal compliance.

Treasury

  • Oversee strategic treasury initiatives, including capital market transactions, major financing deals, and investment policies.

  • Engage with top-tier financial institutions and regulators, shaping the company's reputation and financial stability.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Comply with Cubic's Quality Management System.

  • Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.

  • Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures.

  • Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of relevant organizations.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 12 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated success in executive-level financial strategy, influencing cross-company policies and direction.

  • Exceptional ability to assess intangible variables and anticipate financial and market trends.

  • Proven track record of overseeing large teams or divisions, partnering with C-suite executives on multi-year initiatives.

Cubic Pay Range:

$180,000.00 - $250,000.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
