Principle Responsibilities:


Production Scheduling Functions:



  • Schedule mill trim sheets based on customer demand and grade run maximization, while coordinating production capabilities (maintenance work, pulp availability, DLK percentages, and steam loads), as well as transportation capacities.
  • Work with Corporate Dispatch to secure trucking capacity and rail equipment to meet customer requirements and minimize the quantity of roll stock stages on loading docks. Adjust loads/schedule using information of carrier availability and rail capacity.
  • Supervise the shipping department hourly employees responsible for handling and loading of all finished product.
  • Assist Quality Manager with any customer complaint issues concerning damaged product.
  • Work directly with corporate transportation and the mill scheduling group on a daily basis. The majority of communication is via email.


Accounting Functions:



  • Maintain roll stock inventories on a daily/monthly basis. Includes documentation of physical inventory bi-annually for external auditing requirements. Verify roll stock inventory at the end of the month. Includes physical verification of trailers in shuttle lot and rail shipments in shipping shed with mill controller. Physical verification is matched to monthly
    production/sales reports to determine accuracy of inventory numbers (key accounting control for auditing purposes).

  • Annually prepare all blanket purchase orders for shipping department, car/truck blocking supplies, printer ribbons and roll labels, warehousing/shuttle service, and roll weight scale services. Work with these vendors on maintaining supply inventories through product releases in a timely fashion. Pay all invoices through accounts payable system for all these items.
  • Maintain various spreadsheets to provide information to mill controller as needed.
  • Maintain and report all trim rolls to mill controller monthly.
  • Maintain files for accounting using published document retention guidelines.


Other Job Functions:



  • Provide support to Shipping and Scheduling Assistant as needed.

  • Verify rail doorway photos. Provide feedback to dock operators for any potential corrections needed.

  • Work with Mill Personnel Scheduler and Paper Mill Training Coordinator on departmental training needs.

  • Enter work orders as needed. Discuss with Department Superintendent on maintenance planning.

  • Prepare shipping department work for mill outages. Includes arranging rail track cleaning when PM4 is scheduled down for maintenance, as well as providing work lists for crew members. For major mill outages, coordinate purchasing of supplies needed for painting, etc., as well as personnel schedules in conjunction with Mill Personnel Scheduler.


Basic Qualifications:




  • High School Diploma


  • Experience in planning, scheduling, and accounting functions.


  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow up skills.



  • Demonstrated skills in setting priorities and delegating, analytical problem solving, and facilitating in a team environment.



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.



  • Must be able to function and contribute within a team environment


  • Must possess a valid driver's license


  • Must be authorized to work in U.S.




Preferred Qualifications:




  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field.


  • Previous supervisory experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS




  • Starting salary range for position: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00
  • Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
