Credit Resolution Specialist / Overpayment Specialist - Dialysis Billing

Overview

Innovative Renal Care is seeking a Credit Resolution Specialist / Overpayment Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team. This full time remote role is responsible for resolving credit balances and overpayments by reviewing EOBs, remittances, contracts, and supporting documentation to determine whether accounts require a refund, adjustment, void, or other corrective action. This position plays an important role in ensuring open credit balances are resolved accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policy and payer requirements.

Essential Functions

• Work assigned credit balances across self-pay, commercial, federal, and state insurance plans
• Review and interpret EOBs, remittances, contracts, and account documentation to determine the correct next step
• Process and track refunds through the appropriate refund portal, including states requiring live checks
• Identify and process credit balance adjustments
• Void payments in applicable insurance portals, as required and subject to management approval
• Review and address incoming payer and account correspondence
• Answer calls and manage inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and collection agencies related to refund and credit balance activity
• Follow up on returned and voided checks
• Maintain accurate documentation of claim follow-up and account activity within the billing system
• Complete and maintain regular facility reports and review for issues requiring action
• Meet 30-day credit review expectations and maintain expected daily and weekly productivity

Qualifications

• Experience in overpayments, refunds, credit balances, or revenue cycle
• Ability to review EOBs, remittances, payments, adjustments, and account documentation and determine the appropriate resolution
• Experience working with payer portals, refund requests, and credit balance or overpayment workflows preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, experience with PivotTables and VLOOKUP preferred
• Experience in healthcare billing or reimbursement required, dialysis billing experience preferred
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing productivity and quality expectations
