Job Summary The Manager of Compliance Training leads the team of trainers responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs for Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Control Center operators. This role ensures that all operator training meets mandatory regulatory requirements (including PER005 and COM0024) and supports safe, reliable realtime operations. The manager oversees the full life cycle of operator training (initial qualification, continuing education, simulation-based training, and compliance documentation) and ensures alignment with Federal and State regulations, including those from FERC, NERC, Reliability First (RF), and MISO. This position also contributes to NIPSCO's broader NERC 693 and NERC CIP compliance efforts as they relate to operator readiness and training. Essential Functions
Lead and develop a team of trainers who deliver training for Transmission and Distribution Control Center operators, including initial onboarding, progression training, and continuing education. Oversee the Transmission System Supervisor, Dispatcher Operator, Operations Support, and ESSO Dispatcher Training Programs, ensuring training content, qualification processes, and evaluations meet all regulatory requirements. Guide instructional strategy and curriculum design for operator training, ensuring systematic training methods and adultlearning principles are applied. Manage the development, maintenance, and use of training simulations/models used for T&D operator scenariobased training. Coordinate with Control Center leadership to identify operational training needs tied to system performance, event analysis, new tools, or procedural changes. Ensure accuracy and completeness of operator training records in accordance with NERC and NiSource standards. Represent NIPSCO on NATF, NERC, and RF training committees, participating in industry collaboration and maintaining visibility into changing training expectations. Oversee software, tools, and systems used by the training team and coordinate required upgrades or implementations. Manage the department budget for O&M and capital projects related to training technology and programs. Maintain policies, standards, and documentation essential to training compliance. Coordinate with stakeholders, including Operations and other internal groups, to support educational needs related to T&D operations. Ensure adherence to professional training standards, ethics, and compliance practices within the training organization.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, instructional design, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to lead and manage a team in both normal and emergency operational contexts. Experience supporting or managing NERC, RF, and FERC compliance programs. Strong communication, planning, delegation, and organizational skills. Minimum 5 years' direct experience with:
Transmission and Distribution Control Center operations SCADA and Energy Management Systems NERC standards and regulatory environment Information security principles
Advanced PC skills and strong problemsolving abilities. Demonstrated understanding of systematic training principles and instructional development. Obtain NERC System Operator Certification within 12 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in State, Federal, and industry regulatory environments. Background in electric utility system operations (T&D preferred). Instructional design or curriculum development experience. NERC System Operator Certification upon hire

Salary Range*: $133,400.00 - $200,100.00
