Overview
Trade Services Product Manager is responsible for providing overall leadership, strategic direction, managing the profit and loss (P&L), and ensuring operational excellence for the bank's Core Trade business. This role oversees the end-to-end execution of trade transactions including letters of credit, collections, guarantees, and related financing while ensuring adherence to international regulations, ICC rules, and internal risk policies. In addition to functional leadership, this role directly supervises the Trade Services team, providing direction, guidance, and oversight to ensure effective daily operations and alignment with business objectives. The Trade Services Product Manager also plays a pivotal role in the strategic development, management, and enhancement of Core Trade Services products to ensure they remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with evolving market needs. For the implementation and launch of new trade products or enhancements, the role collaborates closely with Operations and Technology, internal stakeholders, clients, partners, and vendors, leading product initiatives and supporting the design and implementation of a complete service framework to strengthen the bank's trade services offering. What You'll Do:
Lead and oversee all Trade Services processing activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Design and implement operational policies, procedures, controls, and service standards in alignment with the bank's processes, international rules, and market practices to ensure efficiency, consistency, and regulatory compliance. Maintain Product Programs and framework documentation for the Trade Services product offering. Ensure the governance, oversight, and continuous enhancement of all Trade Services solutions, processes, and procedures to maintain full compliance with internal risk policies, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules (UCP 600, URC 522, URDG 758, ISP98), and applicable international regulations; exercise judgment in identifying, escalating, and addressing complex compliance or regulatory issues. Liaise with internal stakeholders including business units, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit, and Operations leadership to support governance, audits, and process improvements. Ensure necessary guidelines and procedures are in place for day-to-day Trade Services and Trade Finance operations, guiding staff through complex cases and supporting effective resolution of documentation, processing, or settlement issues. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround time, error rates, discrepancy rates, and SLA adherence; develop action plans to improve performance and operational quality. Review and strengthen entitlements and escalation processes to ensure appropriate authorization of complex and/or highvalue transactions, proper documentation, and adherence to trade regulations and bank policies. Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Corporate Banking, and Commercial Banking to support smooth trade execution, identify opportunities for product expansion, develop new client solutions, and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
- More than 10 years experience in Trade product management, product development, structuring or operations with extensive exposure to documentary credits, collections, guarantees, and trade documentation.
- 2-4 years experience with process redesign and launching of new products.
- Extensive knowledge of Core Trade Services products, including Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Guarantees, Supply Chain Finance, and traderelated financing structures.
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and guide teams, driving performance, setting clear expectations, delegating effectively, and fostering a highperforming culture. Strong professional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal teams, clients, correspondent banks, regulators, and auditors. Advanced understanding of global sanctions, AML/KYC regulatory requirements, and international frameworks governing trade operations. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment, evaluate complex scenarios, strengthen controls, and advance continuous process improvement.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, International Trade, or related fields.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
