Job Overview

The Event Operations Lead ensures the successful execution of events and meetings inConference and Event Services (CES)venues.This role overseesday-to-dayevent operations, including room readiness,logistics, and event technology support; supervises eventoperationsstudent employees; and coordinates closely with the event scheduling team.This role provides oversight of event technology and audiovisual systems.

Essential Functions

  • Provide audiovisual and technical support for all meeting rooms and event spaces within Tangeman University Center and West Pavilion.
  • Oversee CES AV systems asset lifecycle management, including servicing, procurement, installations, and preventive maintenance.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with third-party service providers.
  • Manage inventory of AV equipment and recommend upgrades based on usage and client feedback.
  • Coordinate and oversee event logistics, including room setups, layouts, staging, and readiness of event spaces.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for CES AV services, consulting with clients to determine AV and event needs, and providing on-site technical support during event execution.
  • Supervise and train student employees supporting event operations and audiovisual services.
  • Maintain and evaluate data to support client service and student staff performance improvements.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations in CES-managed venues.
  • Serve as a backup to other CES operations professional staff.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by building strong relationships with clients, addressing inquiries promptly, and ensuring their event and AV needs are met with professionalism and care.
  • This position may require occasional work on campus outside of normal business hours to support events and operational needs.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience providing operational support within the event industry, including event operations, audio-visual services/productions, or venue management.
  • Experience supervising and training staff.
  • Working knowledgeand troubleshootingof eventrelatedtechnology.
  • Experience providing customer service in aclient-facingorservice-orientedenvironment.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • 7 years of relevant experience and/or other specialized training can fulfill minimum education requirements.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AV, event production, or related technical credentials)
  • Familiarity with room scheduling programs (e.g., 25Live), Microsoft 365, and presentation/collaboration technologies.

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate Information:$56,150 - $59,150
