Overview

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability of our corporate data and voice networks, as well as deploying advanced network solutions to our customers. This individual is responsible for designing and deploying a network infrastructure based on stability, high-availability, best practice, and security requirements. In addition, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will analyze and resolve network infrastructure issues in a timely manner.



Responsibilities

    Designs and deploys company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks
  • Administers routers, switches, firewalls, wireless
  • Resolves trouble tickets
  • Monitors and tests network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports
  • Evaluates and recommends near- and long-term network capacity needs
  • Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration
  • Conducts research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry
  • Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
  • Manages network security solutions


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of network administration
  • 5+ years in a network engineer role
  • Cisco CCNP certification
  • Expert- level understanding of network protocols and services such as VoIP, BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, RADIUS, TACACS+, CAPWAP, 802.1x
  • Network security - device hardening, intrusion prevention
  • Cisco ASA - client, phone, site-to-site VPN
  • Cisco routers/switches
  • Cisco/Meraki wireless
  • Network monitoring and reporting - Cisco Prime Infrastructure, SolarWinds, etc
  • Ability to document, diagram, and discuss network infrastructure
  • Experience with multiple site MPLS connectivity
  • Design highly-available networks built for auto-failover
  • Ability to shift gears and priorities as needed

  • Avaya or Cisco phone system experience
  • Cisco ACS/ISE
  • F5 Load-Balancers
  • Juniper routers/firewalls
  • Extreme switches
  • Kemp load balancers
  • Project Management
  • Familiar with change management process and procedures

Pay Range

$100,000 - $125,000

Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to
base pay.
