Seneca Foods in Glencoe, MN is currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant to join our team. Seneca Foods offers an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, paid time off and much more! Help us make our Farm Fresh Goodness Great!

Primary function of this position is to provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department by assisting with workers' compensation case management, leave administration, safety reporting, recruitment and onboarding processes, and HR recordkeeping. This role helps ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while supporting employee programs, maintaining accurate HR documentation, and assisting the Human Resources Manager in daily departmental operations.

Responsibilities:



  • Manage the Worker's Compensation program, including filing First Reports of Injury, setting up and attending medical appointments, tracking work restrictions and accommodations, and serving as the primary contact for the third-party claim's administrator.
  • Assist with incident investigations, follow-up documentation and maintain safety reporting requirements.
  • Assist with leave administration processes, including tracking restrictions and coordinating return-to-work documentation.
  • Provide support for seasonal and full-time staffing efforts, including recruiting support, data entry, onboarding, orientations, and training coordination.
  • Maintain HR records and assist with filing and reporting, including AAP tracking.
  • Support employee programs and facility initiatives including employee engagement activities and wellness programs.
  • Provide backup support to the Human Resources Manager
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:



  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with workers' compensation, leave administration, medical coordination preferred.
  • Experience with community outreach, employee programs, or HR support function preferred.


  • Two-year college degree in related field and/ or equivalent experience preferred.


Starting wage range based on skills, abilities, and experience from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.
