Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support the engineering team in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring product quality. You will work on hands-on projects that involve analyzing production systems, troubleshooting, and implementing improvements within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position offers valuable industry experience and professional development opportunities.

Assist in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes to enhance quality and productivity.

  • Support the design, implementation, and optimization of production workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production teams, to identify areas of improvement.
  • Create and update technical documentation, such as process instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform time studies and capacity analyses to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Assist with process validation and testing to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Provide support for new product introductions, including tooling design and equipment setup.
  • Conduct research and report findings to support engineering projects.
  • This position will provide technical, hands-on engineering and project management for manufacturing equipment, automated production lines, and related equipment in the production of plastic closures
  • Manage CapEx projects and make recommendations regarding new technology and processes to improve quality, productivity and overall manufacturing efficiency
  • Responsible for manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scrap reduction
  • Utilize data to identify trends to guide continuous improvement activities
  • Support and troubleshoot multi-discipline machine technology to include mechanical, electrical, controls, PLC's, vision systems, and drives
  • Provide process and mechanical training to current and new operators and technicians
  • Provides technical support in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Adherence to all applicable Safety, GMP, Food Safety and Plant Policies.
