Job Summary

The Florida Small Business Development Center (FSBDC) at FIU, a partnership between the Florida SBDC Network and Florida International University, offers at no-cost a team of business consultants who work with entrepreneurs and business owners in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties to help them grow and succeed. FSBDC at FIU also organizes workshops, seminars, networking events and other events in the community to engage with existing and prospective small business clients in the region. The Program Coordinator (Marketing) is responsible for coordinating marketing activities related to programs under the center.

  • Work closely with the FIU College of Business (COB) Office of Marketing and Communications, FIU External Relations, and the Florida SBDC Network Strategic Communications team to market and highlight FSBDC at FIU client success stories, center impacts, and community programs.
  • Assist center leadership with preparation of an annual marketing and outreach plan in support of center deliverables, community needs, and contractual goals.
  • Research, develop and write materials such as news releases, fact sheets, flyers, brochures, newsletters and presentations.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts and partnerships for the dissemination of information regarding center services and programs.
  • Review and respond to internal and external requests for information, data, and feedback related to center activities.
  • Disciplined in continuous research and development of marketing techniques and best practices.
  • Utilize media platforms, such as Canva and/or Adobe to create marketing materials that follow the networks branding policies and procedures.
  • Utilize email marketing and digital marketing platform such as Constant Contact to distribute any publications and/or press releases to media partners and stakeholders.
  • Leverage analytics tools, including Google Analytics, to analyze and optimize campaign performance.
  • Network effectively with prospective clients, small businesses, and economic-development partners and stakeholders.
  • Travel throughout Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience.



Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with social media, marketing, and design preferred.
  • Project management and cross-functional collaboration skills preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
