Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Marketing Automation at FIU Online serves as both the strategic owner and lead practitioner for lifecycle marketing automation, driving student recruitment, engagement, and retention. This role sets direction for data-driven, multi-channel automation strategies while remaining actively engaged in the hands-on technical design, build, and optimization of campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. As the primary platform subject matter expert, the Assistant Director partners closely with marketing, recruitment, analytics, and creative teams to translate strategy into scalable automation solutions and measurable enrollment and engagement outcomes.

  • Owns the lifecycle automation strategy and governance for end-to-end marketing workflows and journeys within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Advances FIU Online's personalization, journey orchestration, and adaptive content strategies to drive measurable lifecycle outcomes.
  • Establishes and evolves customer segmentation and data extension frameworks that enable personalized, scalable engagement across the lifecycle.
  • Leads cross-functional reviews of creative assets, audience data, and technical set-up to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to channel best practices.
  • Presents campaign insights, retention trends, and growth opportunities to senior leadership in clear, actionable terms.
  • Defines and oversees A/B and multivariate testing frameworks to optimize subject lines, creative, and cadence, driving measurable improvements in engagement, conversion, and retention outcomes.
  • Own marketing performance measurement, ensuring campaign KPIs are analyzed and translated into insights that drive ROI and measurable business outcomes.
  • Oversees the deployment of complex email, SMS, and multi-channel campaigns; directs the technical build and testing protocols to ensure flawless execution across prospective and current student segments.
  • Architects and directs the development of complex, multi-channel nurture ecosystems and conversational engagement frameworks; collaborates with cross-functional teams to align triggered communications and retargeting frameworks to maximize student progression through key lifecycle milestones.
  • Serves as the strategic owner and lead practitioner for the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, providing subject matter expertise while overseeing and supporting hands-on execution.
  • Directs the data hygiene strategy in partnership with cross-functional project teams (designers, copywriters, data analysts) to ensure campaign assets meet technical specifications, deployment timelines, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establishes and enforces governance policies for the marketing automation platform; holds authority to approve or reject campaigns based on technical standards and regulatory compliance.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field with four (4) years of experience in social media tools, marketing, and advertising or Master's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field with two (2) years of experience in social media tools, marketing, and advertising.



Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level CRM and marketing automation ecosystems (specifically Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud), including the development of advanced audience segmentation strategies and data-driven journey orchestration.
  • Experience managing complex workflows and cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong knowledge of email marketing best practices, journey orchestration, and dynamic content presentation.
  • Experience with SMS campaign management and deliverability optimization.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email template customization and troubleshooting.
