Baystate Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in western Massachusetts which consists of an academic medical center, three community hospitals and the region’s largest multispecialty group. Our flagship hospital, Baystate Medical Center, is home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate.

We are seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to lead our Midwifery Education program located at in Springfield, Mass.

Baystate Midwifery and Women’s Health:

  • Our team of experienced CNM’s provide full scope care to patients with diverse clinical needs. Our Midwifery division is dedicated to addressing racial disparities in maternal and infant health, bias in healthcare, health equity, and providing evidence-based care alongside partnering with patients and families for shared decision-making.
  • The midwifery-led practice conducts over 500 births a year at Baystate Medical Center (BMC), provides office-based ob/gyn services as well as participates in deliveries. BMC is a Level 3 Perinatal Center, and the Obstetric Service conducts approximately 4,500 births a year.
  • Enjoy strong physician and midwife working relationships providing culturally sensitive patient-centered care with a strong focus on health equity. Subspecialty support from Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology, Urogynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Family Planning, Pediatric and Adolescent gynecology and General Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Academic Leadership:

  • Lead the regions only ACME Midwifery and Education Program which consist of up to 7 midwifery students/year.
  • Coordinate faculty assignments, lead the development of the academic calendar and student placement sites. Responsible for curriculum development, evaluation and revision, student selection and policy development.
  • In this role you will have a combination of clinical care and teaching with faculty appointment at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and Baystate Midwifery and Women’s Health.

Compensation:

  • The compensation ranges in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

Qualifications: ACNM Board Certified Nurse Midwife with 10+ years’ clinical experience with evidence of progressive Faculty/teaching responsibilities and leadership in an academic setting. Demonstrable record of collaboration, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm for education and mentoring. The Departments of Midwifery greatly value teamwork, collegiality, diversity, equity, and inclusion and community engagement. Leadership training is provided and encouraged. Ph.D./DNP Preferred. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
