We're looking for a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Microsoft Foundry Agents Platform team, where we're creating intuitive and powerful agent-building experiences for developers and enterprises. Responsibilities Leverage modern,AI-assisted development practices and tooling to accelerate delivery whilemaintaininghigh code quality Architect full stack solutions that span from user experienceand code-first platformsto backend data and service layers Develop software using languages suchas TypeScript, JavaScript, React,Python,and others Design, develop, andmaintainbackend services and APIs that support agentic workflows and platform capabilities Collaborate with partner teams tocomprehend, define, enhance, and developAzureMLcapabilities Respond, resolve, and integrate customer feedback with agility and dedication Lead by example, adhering to best engineering practices, raising the quality bar, and improving the team's response to customer incidents Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Requirements: 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Python, C#, Node.js, OR equivalent experience 6+ years of experience inplatform orfront-end development usingmultiple languages and frameworks includingJavaScript, TypeScript, and React 4+ years of experience in backend service development (APIs, microservices, or distributed systems)OR 4+ years of experience increating developer platforms (APIs, SDKs, CLIs, etc.) Demonstratedproficiencywith AI-assisted software development tools and workflows (e.g., AI coding agents, LLM-powered development environments) Expertisein LLM and GenAI Application development. Deep understanding of modern front-end technologies such asNextJS/Remix ,SSR,Web Components, and performance optimization techniques Experience with distributed systems design and implementation Experience designing and building RESTful APIs orGraphQLservices Track recordof high development velocity through effective use of AI coding assistants and automation Experience orchestrating complex development workflows across multiple concurrent workstreams Familiarity with backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, or C# for service development Knowledge of industry APIs and developer platforms for LLM-driven agentic systems Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, or vector databases) Passion for machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. Experience working on large-scaleUi-intensive product development Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
