Description Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)isa 20 bed combined medical-surgical unit which cares for more than 1600 critically ill children each year and is the only Level I Trauma PICU in NEO. When a child is transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital's team of caring pediatric team isavailable to provide the highest level ofexpert critical care in Northeast Ohio. This includes care and treatment for traumatic injuries, critical illnesses, and for children recovering fromsurgery. We also treat children referred from the emergency department and other pediatric divisions. What You Will Do Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care. Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations. Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing. Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
