Job Duties:

The Nurse Manager for Women's Health, Labor and Delivery and the NICU is responsible for organizing and supervising the staff in their department, programs, budgets, schedules, payroll, and equipment. They are to provide leadership through communication and relationship-building, a strong knowledge of the health care environment and business skills. The Nurse Manager functions as an extension of the Director of their department by implementing policies, procedures, and standards of the hospital within the unit managed.

About the Units:

Women's Health Services is conveniently located on the same floor as the Labor and Delivery unit and is a 19-bed unit utilizing a couplet care model following the AWHONN staffing guidelines. The unit also cares for female post-operative patients who have recently undergone gynecological or bariatric procedures.

Labor and Delivery is made up of eight labor and delivery suites, two triage bays, two operating rooms and two recovery bays with wireless monitoring capabilities. Natural birthing options such as nitrous oxide, laboring tubs, and birthing balls available. On average, there are around 1,000 births annually.

The NICU provides level II care to infants as early as 32 weeks' gestation or 1,500 grams and above. The NICU is comprised of 6 rooms. The nurses treat Vapotherm and bubble CPAP ventilated patients up to 24 hours, PPN administration, umbilical lines, central lines, NAS monitoring and care. The NICU also accepts readmit infants from home for up to 30 days. There are three Neonatal NPs on staff, with at least one available 24/7.

Qualifications:

Graduate of accredited BSN or MSN program.

Master's degree preferred; If no current Master's degree and not pursuing, must obtain national certification in leadership within 2 years.

Three (3) years nursing experience required.

One (1) year charge nurse or supervisory experience required.

Women's Services experience required.

BLS for Healthcare Provider required.

National specialty certification and/or National certification in Nursing Leadership preferred.
