*Clearance:* Active Secret clearance required *Work Shift:* 1st Shift, 9/80A *Travel:* Up to 10% *Position Overview* A defensesector engineering organization is seeking a *Software Engineer* to support an *Internal Research and Development (IRAD)* project. This position is fully onsite in *Colorado Springs, CO* and requires the ability to work in a secured/closedarea environment. The engineer will contribute to the design and implementation of advanced software capabilities and algorithms supporting complex systems involving intensive physics and mathematics. Responsibilities include developing new software features, analyzing system requirements, and participating in reviews of requirements and test cases. *Responsibilities* * Develop software applications and new system capabilities in C * Implement and optimize algorithms involving physics and mathbased models * Review system requirements, design documentation, and test cases * Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting in a collaborative engineering environment * Work onsite in a secured facility as required *Basic Qualifications* * Bachelor's degree in a STEM field *and 5+ years* of relevant experience * OR Master's degree *and 3+ years* * OR PhD *and 1+ year* * Active, inscope DoD *Secret clearance* at time of application * Strong handson experience developing software in *C* * *Experience with MATLAB and/or Python* * *Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts* * *Experience working in Unix/Linux environments* * *Ability to work fully onsite in a closedarea environment* *Preferred Qualifications* * Linux scripting and operations experience * Experience with automated software testing and requirements analysis * Experience with battle management or firecontrol systems * Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies * Familiarity with BehaviorDriven Development (BDD) tools such as *Gherkin* or *Cucumber* * *Experience with static/dynamic code analysis tools (Coverity, Fortify, SonarQube)* * *Experience working in a ModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment* * *Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube)* * *Strong in mathematics or physics* * *Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science* *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Colorado Springs, CO. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
