Security Officer - Patrol Route Watch

As a Security Officer - Patrol Route Watch in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned buildings, walkways, and common areas to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will complete routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, assist students, staff, and visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with site contacts and your team. You will bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach to every shift.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location and time of day.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with campus resources and/or local responders as directed.
• Monitor and report security-related conditions such as suspicious activity, unsecured doors, and policy violations; complete accurate documentation including patrol logs and incident reports.
• Support entry and event operations as assigned by verifying authorization, providing directions, and helping to maintain orderly flow during peak campus activity periods.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2+ years of security experience.
• Be at least 21+ years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
