Job Description

2nd Shift NDT Technician - X-Ray Operator (Level II)

Mentor, Ohio
2nd Shift | 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM | Monday - Friday

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is a global leader in manufacturing complex metal components and products for the aerospace, power generation, and industrial markets. We are currently seeking a 2nd Shift NDT Technician - X-Ray Operator (Level II) to join our team in Mentor, Ohio.

This role is responsible for performing non-destructive testing (NDT) using X-ray equipment to identify defects and ensure parts meet strict quality and specification standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform X-ray inspections and testing to identify defects and deviations from specifications.

  • Process parts in accordance with applicable inspection standards and procedures.

  • Conduct system capability checks to ensure equipment accuracy.

  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and complex testing equipment.

  • Follow safety procedures and hazardous material handling requirements in accordance with MSDS and company policies.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, work performed, and operational codes.

  • Move and manage inventory associated with X-ray inspection processes.

  • Stock and organize film materials used in X-ray operations.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Collaborate with supervisors, Level III inspectors, and team members to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor or Level III personnel.

Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred (relevant experience may substitute).

Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of NDT Technician/Operator experience required.

  • Casting or metal manufacturing experience is a plus.

Physical & Job Requirements
    • Ability to work in a high-activity manufacturing environment with tight deadlines.

    • Must pass a visual acuity exam.

    • Ability to safely perform the physical demands associated with the role.

    • Willingness to study and complete training required to pass Level I certification exams.
