Overview

The Manager, Accounting Operations is responsible for the following functions: identifying, documenting, and solutioning processes within the accounting department. This includes but not limited to ERP, Accounting Journals, Reconciliations, Cash, Fixed Assets, Leases, Cost Transfer & Pricing, eliminations, or any other processes within the department. This position is actively involved in month-end close, audit and reporting cycles.

This position may oversee finance business analyst positions who support the process improvement initiatives of the department. This position manages multiple projects and plays a key role in the corporate accounting management team. Acts as an effective communicator with the ability to interact with all levels of The Carle Foundation and possesses the skills and ability to manage and lead a professional staff.


Qualifications

Certifications:

  • CPA - Certified Public Accountant (preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Accounting or
  • Bachelor's Degree: Finance

Work Experience:

  • Healthcare Finance - 5 years
  • Project Management

Specialized Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of Workday ERP.
  • Strong knowledge in process improvement processes.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting theory and application.
  • Working knowledge in healthcare reimbursement & industry regulations
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge in PC based systems including spreadsheets, database program applications, and word processing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identification, documentation, and solutioning of accounting operations and processes.
  • Responsible for meeting with accountants, leaders, and stakeholders to diagnose problems and opportunities.
  • Responsible for building, maintaining, and analyzing reports from the ERP or other financial software.
  • Provides oversight and administration of ERP objects including Cost Centers, GL Accounts, Spend/Revenue Categories, and related work tags.
  • Provides oversight and administration of assigned ERP modules such as General Ledger, Grants, Gifts, Fixed Assets, Allocations, Eliminations, or other.
  • Responsible for consolidated financial reporting for interim and annual disclosure.
  • Responsible for month-end tasks; journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
  • Oversees accounting operations through business analysts and mini-controllers for separate business units.
  • Creates training and compliance material for use by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicates effectively, has regular project status report-out to leadership
  • Manages projects to meet assigned due dates.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $42.92per hour - $73.82per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
