NOTE: This position is hybrid (3 days onsite) at our FIS Office locations in Jacksonville (FL) & Milwaukee (WI).

About the Role and Team:

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior DevOps Manager to lead a larger practice of CI/CD operations across multiple application portfolio teams. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise of modern SDLC tooling, CI/CD best practices, and a proven track record of strong leadership.

This individual will play a key role in driving standardization, centralization, and modernization of existing Release Management workflow and architecture. Ideal candidate will successfully transition existing operations from Legacy tooling and execution practices towards greater observability, automation, and efficiencies. This is an opportunity to lead a team that will work across both mainframe technologies (COBOL, RPG) and modern server-based environments (Java, Angular, .NET), giving you a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of legacy systems and contemporary microservices. This is a great opportunity to drive engineering improvements that directly enhance SDLC practices and production support operations. This role is with our Horizon team.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to align data center operations with overall organizational objectives.

  • Operational Excellence & Client Engagement: Conduct regular service level reviews to evaluate platform and application performance, and manage a structured feedback loop to identify, track, and resolve recurring technology and application issues. Use this feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives, prioritize remediation efforts, and inform release planning. Ensure that findings are documented, action items are tracked, and outcomes are communicated to leadership and product owners.

  • Management Priorities: Oversee CI/CD pipelinesfor a mainframe (Cobol, RPG, CL, JCL) dominated DevOps practice with a growing number of server-based (Java, .NET) DevOps initiatives.

  • Deliver Integrated mainframe and server development workflows withmodern DevOps toolchains(e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).

  • Oversee multiple source control and release management workflowsacross existing development landscape including but not limited to Rocket Aldon, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub, CXOne, Checkmarx, Artifactory, ServiceNow, and proprietary scripting.

  • Manage the design and implementation of an modernizedautomated end to end release management workflow.

  • Ensure security, compliance, and auditability in automated build and release processes.

  • Monitor and optimize pipeline performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Completes documentation related to CICD solution design, Steady State WLI, and support requirements including delivery of status reporting to senior leadership.

  • Optimization & Governance:Drive continuous improvement, establish standards, implement monitoring/alerting (Splunk, Dynatrace), and manage security & compliance.

What you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience inDevOps engineering, including CI/CD pipeline development and automation.

  • 2+ years working directly withmainframe systems(IBM iSeries, z/OS, AS/400, etc.).

  • Experienced identifying and implementation automation and integration scripting using Jenkins, GitHub suite, Bitbucket, NUnit, Watir, Checkmarx, ServiceNow, Jira, and Azure DevOps Technologies and services.

  • Experience integrating modern version control (e.g., Git) with mainframe SCM tools (IBM Endevor, ISPW, Rational Developer for i/z, etc.).

  • Experience in performing responsibilities of a Project and Program Manager.

  • Possesses solid technical knowledge or at least a fundamental grasp of the key principles related to the technologies mentioned below:

  • Experience withIBM UrbanCode Deploy,z/OSMF, orRocket Aldon.

  • Experience implementing automated testingon APM, Mainframe, and Server platforms.

  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrummethodologies orchestrated on Jira and working within CI/CD-driven teams.

  • Automation & Tooling:Develop automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell), use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), and manage containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience in identifying and implementation automation and integration scripting using Jenkins, GitHub suite, Bitbucket, NUnit, Watir, Checkmarx, ServiceNow, Jira, and Azure DevOps Technologies and services.

  • Preferred Tooling Experience: Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, Splunk, Dynatrace, Bit bucket, Jira.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
