Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an experience attorney as Principal Counsel - Risk Management as part of Geosyntec's Legal Department. This position can be based from any of our U.S. locations such as Detroit, MI; Boca Raton, FL; Overland Park, KS; Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. Hybrid and remote work schedules are available for this position. The ideal candidate will work with Chief Legal Officer and other members of the corporate legal department to support dynamic professional engineering and consulting practice. Primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the company's risk management policies, processes and awareness, which will include ensuring compliance with risk review process, working closely with project teams and regional leadership to evaluate project related risks, develop risk management approaches and approve risky project opportunities; develop training and other resources to increase awareness around the company on risks and risk management approaches to support the Company's operations and project work; evaluate Company's operations and identify emerging risks; develop risk management approaches to minimize the Company's exposure to risks identified; support the Company's commercial insurance program; and collaborate with other members of the Legal Department and our operating regions regarding the Company's risk management program. Provide risk allocation support to project teams when pursuing projects that fit within various risk categories. Work with Chief Legal Officer, the other members of the legal department to offer legal support to the business and manage risk. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. Work with Chief Legal Officer, and the legal department to refine, improve, implement and manage the Company's risk management program. Support and enforce the Company's risk management philosophy and principles.
