Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all office functions for all practice medical secretarial staff to ensure smooth daily operations with patient flow, front office activities, office maintenance and patient concerns.
- Serve as a working supervisor, assisting with scheduling, coverage, and workflow optimization.
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate front office staff; manage performance goals and disciplinary actions.
- Provides guidance and daily work direction to staff within the department.
- Takes and receives phone messages for physicians and other practice personnel. Answers calls promptly and records messages accurately.
- Provides administrative support to physicians and management.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some College or Associate's Degree in Business or Healthcare Management preferred.
- Minimum three years' secretarial experience required
- Medical office experience strongly preferred
- At least five (5) years of medical office experience, with one to three (1-3) years or more of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and collection-related legal requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
