We are looking for an Academic Center Executive (ACE) Rare - Neuromuscular who is accomplished, highly networked within the hospital systems, and who takes initiative to join us in our Rare Disease Organization team, based in South Texas that includes: Houston, New Orleans and San Antonio.

About the Role

The Academic Center Executive (ACE) represents the UCB rare portfolio in the key academic centers of excellence educating appropriate healthcare professionals on our promoted gMG products and the role these products could play in the lives of patients living with generalized myasthenia gravis.

  • Sales management/leadership
  • Market Access, Thought Leader Liaisons, Medical teams and Reimbursement/Market Access
  • Knowledge Thought Leaders (KOL)
  • Sites of care

What you'll do

  • Promote and educate healthcare professionals (HCPs), especially neuromuscular specialists, on the appropriate use of UCB Rare Disease products through one-on-one meetings, group presentations, and company-approved programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at academic hospitals/Centers of Excellence, VA/DoD clinics, and affiliated specialty centers (infusion centers, etc.) to maximize product visibility and adoption.
  • Develop and execute territory business plans, analyze sales reports, and implement strategies to achieve sales targets in assigned institutions.
  • Serve as an expert to provide education about gMG as it relates to UCB treatment options, and overall education about UCB treatment options to physicians, nurses, infusion center staff, and other appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate activities with other field-based team members, including community focused AE's, medical (MSL's), TLL, Reimbursement/Market Access, and Marketing as appropriate to support organizational goals.
  • Attend relevant medical conferences, symposia, and other appropriate meetings to provide promotional support for UCB treatment options and stay current with trends in the rare disease community.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and account information in the company CRM system.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Utilize innovative methods to identify patients who need treatment
  • Maintain a highly tactical approach to patient access
  • Help patients and caregivers navigate the Healthcare System and work around roadblocks

Interested? For this position, you'll need the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years of proven and consistent success in Neurology based field sales; 3+ years selling to Neurologists in Academic Centers of excellence with a preference for neuro-muscular rare experience.
  • 3+ years' experience working with Hospital formularies and gaining formulary access for promoted products
  • 3+ years success developing thought leader relationships

Preferred experience

  • 3+ years selling to Neurologists in Academic Medical centers with experience with Neuro-muscular specialists preferred.
  • 2+ years of rare neurological drug experience in competitive market preferred
  • A proven record of sustained high sales performance and achievement in the retail and hospital setting
  • Significant CNS/neuroscience sales experience (to include epilepsy); Oncology, Hematology and/or Specialty reimbursement products requiring Specialty Pharmacy knowledge and expertise
  • Participation in recent successful product launches
  • Experience in supporting biologic therapy administered by a designated health care provide
  • Experience working with specialty pharmacies
  • Promotional product experience with REMS requirements
  • Command of key medical, scientific, and healthcare concepts, language, and practices related to neurology and rare diseases

This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $144,000 - $189,000. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
