As a Pharmacist on our team, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services in a highvolume automated central fill and/or digital pharmacy environment. Your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to operational excellence will ensure patients and partners receive the highest quality care. From verifying prescriptions to collaborating with crossfunctional teams and supporting staff, your work will help improve health outcomes every day.

Schedule: Varies by site; may include evenings, weekends, or holiday rotation

Specifically, we need you to: Prescription Accuracy & Quality Assurance
  • Perform the Final Quality Assurance check on prescriptions processed through central fill automation, ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance prior to release.
  • Oversee daytoday prescription processes, resolving issues to support timely medication delivery.
  • Monitor automation systems, workflows, and production to maintain consistent and efficient output.
Operational Support
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure pharmacy environment.
  • Prioritize and complete daily operational tasks, including workflow oversight, production monitoring, inventory management, and cycle counts.
  • Participate in projects and improvement initiatives designed to optimize pharmacy operations and elevate service quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in pharmacy operations for internal departments.
  • Partner with internal and external vendors to support system updates, software improvements, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and the Pharmacist in Charge to meet all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Support compliance packaging processes and ensure accurate application of specialized patientspecific labeling (Braille, largeprint, audible labels), ensuring accessibility and regulatory compliance.
Customer & Stakeholder Support
  • Provide timely, accurate, and friendly support to patients, providers, and partners.
  • Assist with call triage and issue resolution as needed.
Leadership & Staff Supervision
  • Assist in supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff in alignment with company policies and state regulations.
  • Provide coaching, training, task delegation, and performance feedback when applicable.
  • Assume operational responsibility during the absence of the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge.
Compliance & Regulations
  • Follow all federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, professional standards, and internal policies.
  • Support licensing activities, quality assurance processes, controlled substance management, and operational documentation.
Minimum Requirements Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
Licensure
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing in New Jersey (NJ) at time of hire is required.
  • Ability to obtain additional state licensure as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role includes assisting with oversight of pharmacy technicians and support staff, including onboarding, training, performance coaching, task delegation, recognition, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Working Conditions Environment
  • Central fill or digital pharmacy production environment.
  • Highly regulated workspace with strict safety and quality standards.
Physical Requirements
  • 100% standing with frequent bending and lifting.
  • Work may require extended periods on the production floor.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
