DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Coordinates new hire orientation, assesses individual learning needs, coordinates the orientee's schedule with the preceptor's schedule, evaluates performance of the orientee and preceptor, monitors progress toward achieving competency, and evaluates and shares performance with leadership.
  • Ensures documentation of performance during orientation and acts as a resource and coach as needed.
  • Plans for ongoing staff education using program planning processes, including needs assessment, goal setting, objective development, teaching strategies, evaluation of learning, and assessment of implementation in nursing practice.
  • Plans, develops, facilitates, and evaluates the implementation of new nursing processes and practices.
  • Promotes and achieves satisfaction of external and internal customers. Effectively intercedes with families and patients and resolves concerns related to the delivery of healthcare services.
  • Provides patient care as required using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care to an assigned group of patients.
  • Provides patient care by maintaining standards of care utilizing the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses as the foundation for nursing practice and meeting the standards for regulatory requirements for state and federal agencies.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
  • One (1) year of operating room or surgery RN experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree if hired after 9/28/25.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
