Position Summary

The Office of the Vice President for Research - Main Campus is looking for a self-motivated undergraduate student to join our technical team. The successful candidate will assist in supporting end users' requests for support with issues regarding computer hardware and/or software. Investigate, troubleshoot and follow-up on users' requests. Perform computer imaging, setup, deployment, and inventory tasks as required.


Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.



Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Can lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Familiarity
    with operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software
    applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, web browsers).
  • Willing
    to perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Can
    work a minimum of 20 hours a week - schedules preferred.
  • Ability
    to communicate technical guidance and instruction to end-users
  • Ability
    to analyze and resolve computer problems
  • Ability
    to document work in progress
  • Knowledge
    of customer service standards and procedures
  • Students
    with 2-3 semesters at UNM are preferred
  • Cover
    letter should address how preferred qualifications are met
