This Position reports to:

Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Maintenance team. Each day, you will conduct activities according to agreed maintenance guidelines and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by increasing the overall efficiency of the equipment and production line.

The work model for the role is: onsite, St. Louis, MO

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Reading and Interpreting Blueprints, design schematics and CAD drawings.
  • Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
  • Design jigs and templates as supports in the fabrication of parts.
  • Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
  • Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
  • Grinding carbide and steel to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Assemble and disassemble tools and die parts supporting the production areas to guarantee tools are repaired on time to ensure the continuous production and increase plant productivity.
  • Inspecting tools and dies for defects, perform repairs and conduct test runs with completed tools and dies.
  • Support our culture of sustained continuous improvement programs with the ABB organization (5S-SMED-KAIZEN).
  • Support Tooling Efficiency Improvement and Scrap Reduction Projects.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for Die Repairs.
  • Entering data into SAP.
  • Responding to emergencies/breakdowns.
  • Reporting all recurring problems with machinery and equipment.
  • Outlining problems with parts that can be identified and addressed for record-keeping.
  • Setting calibration and adjusting equipment, machinery, and instruments to comply with production specifications and instructions.
Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)
  • You are immersed in / engaged in / absorbed in / highly skilled in/ you enjoy working with metal working tools including drills, milling machines, grinders and lathes.
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in / Have established skills / advanced skills / You have 5 years experience as Tool and Die Maker.
    Possess an enhanced knowledge of / You are qualified in / Highly adept in
  • In Depth knowledge on Troubleshooting in Die Operation and Die Assembly.
  • You are passionate about / you are captivated by / you are innovative around team work.
  • Have a demonstrated track record in mathematical ability making complex calculations using geometry, trigonometry and algebra / Extensive knowledge of / Proven experience of in metallurgic knowledge understanding the properties of metals .
  • You are at ease communicating and working autonomy, extensive working with engineers and machinists and working with little supervision.
