Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant
to join the Center for Effective School Practices (
CESP).
CESP is strongly committed to connecting a broad range of education stakeholders with the best available research evidence to inform sound education policy and practice decisions needed to support the delivery of quality education to all students while closing persistent achievement gaps. Funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and State and Federal Departments of Education,
CESP develops and executes innovative and impactful projects on educational initiatives, serving as internal and external evaluators on large-scale research projects.
This position supports the Center's research agenda by contributing to a variety of critical projects and initiatives, including conducting literature reviews, managing research protocols, supporting grant-funded activities, and producing high-quality written materials to advance educational innovation. The Research Assistant will play an integral role in ensuring the Center's research and outputs meet the highest standards of academic rigor and practical impact.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists in the development of high-quality background materials and written content. Conduct systematic and comprehensive literature reviews, synthesizing findings into clear, concise, and well-organized publications, instructional materials, and related outputs.
- Prepares polished summary materials, including drafting, editing, and formatting references and citations in accordance with required standards.
- Participates in qualitative data collection, management, and analysis, including data entry, coding, and detailed coding schemes.

The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in education, public policy, sociology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in a research function.

- Current Human Subjects Certification (i.e. CITI certification).

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Demonstrated proficiency in education, or related literary reviews, database management, and SPSS expertise.
- Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and the ability to deliver compelling written content that supports research and educational objectives.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
