Overview

The Experience plus Devices (E+D) Growth team is seeking engineers to help accelerate the adoption of Copilot and Microsoft 365. Our team is uniquely positioned at the strategic epicenter of E+D for revolutionizing the productivity business by delivering embedded experiences across the M365Copilot app and the Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) that drive the growth of our company's cutting-edge generative AI solutions across the commercial and consumer spectrum. Our team tackles technical challenges across a diverse tech stack; with the solutions we deliver having a direct impact on the bottom line of the business. As a Software Engineer II, you will be accountable for end-to-end feature delivery with heavy experimentation, while collaborating with designers, product managers and other software engineering peers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to design and lead AI-augmented development workflows. This includes intentional curation of codebase context, rigorous validation of AI outputs via automated testing, and the technical maturity to identify 'AI-debt' knowing exactly when to bypass AI to maintain architectural clarity.
  • Experience with backend development, preferably using asp.net core/C# or other modern server-side technologies.
  • The ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze information, identify implications of data, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative using quality metrics and data. This includes the ability to convert general data and findings into applied, specific information and suggestions that add value to business planning and strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality software on time.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Passion for customers, design thinking, data analysis, and technology.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
