Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Shift in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering strong customer service. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, you will work as part of a team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and public law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and conduct security-related screening and/or verification of credentials and authorizations in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete written and electronic reports such as daily activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate observations to appropriate contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A DD214 with an honorable discharge or an associates degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate is required.
  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
