Job Title: Blue Yonder Consultant

Location(s): Chicago, IL

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Blue Yonder Consultant with strong domain expertise in Supply Chain Planning solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading full lifecycle implementations of Blue Yonder (BY) Planning solutions and delivering enterprise-scale Advanced Planning Systems (APS) in Agile environments.

This role requires deep functional and technical knowledge of supply chain planning processes, advanced analytics, and Blue Yonder configuration across demand, supply, inventory optimization, and fulfillment modules.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Engineering Management, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field with a concentration in operations or analytics.
  • 3+ years of experience implementing supply chain Advanced Planning Solutions (APS) such as Blue Yonder, o9, Kinaxis, OMP, E2Open, etc.
  • Proven experience leading at least one full lifecycle Blue Yonder implementation, including:
    • Requirements gathering
    • Solution design & development
    • Testing (Unit, SIT, UAT)
    • Cutover / Go-Live
    • Hypercare support
    • Value realization
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models for large-scale enterprise planning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Discovery & Design
  • Conduct detailed discovery workshops with business stakeholders to document:
    • Supply chain network structure
    • Planning processes and business drivers
    • KPIs and performance metrics
    • System landscape and operational constraints
  • Recommend appropriate Blue Yonder modules such as:
    • Enterprise Supply (ES)
    • Inventory Optimization (IO)
    • Supply Chain Planning (SCP)
    • Forecasting & Replenishment
    • Order Promising
  • Design data model extensions, configuration strategies, and required customizations.
  • Lead solution blueprinting sessions and drive detailed functional and technical design documentation.
2. Configuration & Implementation
  • Assign configuration and development tasks to team members and oversee deliverables.
  • Apply advanced planning algorithms, forecasting/statistical models, and inventory optimization logic within Blue Yonder.
  • Configure BY Planning modules including:
    • BY Demand
    • BY Supply Planning
    • BY Inventory Optimization (IO)
    • Fulfillment
    • Luminate Platform
  • Ensure solution quality, scalability, and performance compliance.
3. Data Management & Integration
  • Support end-to-end data management:
    • Data extraction from upstream systems (ERP, WMS, etc.)
    • Data transformation and cleansing
    • Data validation prior to loading into BY
  • Collaborate with integration teams on:
    • BY Integration frameworks
    • REST APIs
    • Flat File Interfaces
    • Luminate Platform integrations
4. Project & Quality Governance
  • Support pre-sales and proposal development by providing:
    • Solution expertise
    • Effort estimation
    • Implementation approach inputs
  • Develop and execute:
    • Unit test scripts
    • SIT support
    • End-to-end testing
    • UAT coordination
  • Lead troubleshooting sessions and resolve:
    • System defects
    • Configuration issues
    • Performance bottlenecks
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to knowledge repositories.
  • Ensure adherence to Blue Yonder implementation methodology and quality standards.
5. Industry & Client Engagement
  • Stay current with evolving supply chain industry trends and best practices.
  • Benchmark client maturity against leading planning frameworks.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement and executive-level communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Preferred Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain planning processes (Demand, Supply, IO, S&OP).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Excellent client-facing and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills
