Summary
Responsible for managing expected workflow in all areas. Maintains and monitors phlebotomy collection and expectations, including safety, accuracy, and response/result times.

Essential Functions
-Manages direct report staff, including scheduling, interviewing, evaluating job performance and productivity, performance improvement, competencies, continuing education, maintaining employee files, timekeeping and attendance, corrective action, and participating in staff meetings with the manager.
-In conjunction with managers, is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all policies and procedures required by the hospital, laboratory, and any governing regulatory agencies to assure the ongoing safe and efficient daily operation of phlebotomy services.
-Supports and monitors customer and employee service expectations.
-Collects and provides all department quality data indicators to the Laboratory Quality Assurance department or other entities required.
-Responsible for timely and accurate payroll functions.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Phlebotomy Technician [National Certification] - Generic - HR Only required Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
Experience
Experience as a phlebotomy lead 3-5 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of phlebotomy regulatory requirements, ensuring accountability within the team.
- Proficient with statistical and computer productivity software.
- Possesses good written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
- Advanced management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Competent in training and mentorship, conflict resolution, and incident management abilities.
