PROCESS PLANNER (STARSHIP LAUNCH HARDWARE)

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Analyze department performance and drive improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability
  • Provide data and reports on production performance to influence decisions on how to increase productivity
  • Assist supervisors and welders to coordinate shop and field activity to support project schedules
  • Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and ability to effectively coordinate team activity with all trades
  • Develop robust solutions for raw material availability and planning
  • Utilize internal SpaceX resources and external vendors as needed
  • Ensure launch assets are physically configured for upgrades and work areas are accessible by coordinating with launch pad and recovery vessel operations teams
  • Create and implement solutions for safe project site operations per SpaceX EH&S direction
  • Support project engineering team as needed with other project preparations and shop/field coordination


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of professional experience in a fabrication, production, or manufacturing environment


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Associate's degree in a technical or business field
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing planning or technical writing within a fabrication, production, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience of pipe fitting, and principals of welding
  • Experience in overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Experience with LEAN and 5S methodologies
  • Experience with inventory management, shipping/receiving, and material flow
  • Experience converting engineering instructions and information into content intended for a variety of audiences and ability levels
  • Experience with data analysis skills with Excel, Python, SQL, and/or other analysis tools
  • Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse co-workers within the engineering, technician, and leadership teams
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
  • General physical fitness is required for some work areas, hardware typically is built in tight quarters and physical dexterity is required
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 30 lbs. unassisted
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Ability to work in extreme environments - heat, cold, rain, fumes, odors, and noise
  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends, as needed
