Hourly Pay Range:

$21.08 - $31.62 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Intake Coordinator, Oncology
  • Location: Arlington Heights, IL
  • Full Time | 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, no weekends or holidays.

What you will do:

  • Receive, review, and schedule incoming oncology referrals from internal and external providers
  • Ensure completeness of referral documentation, including pathology, imaging, laboratory results, and prior treatment records.
  • Communicate promptly with referring offices to obtain any missing information
  • Prioritize referrals according to urgency and clinical criteria
  • Schedule new patient consultations based on provider availability and clinical urgency
  • Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility
  • Address patient concerns and promptly refer clinical questions to the appropriate care team members
  • Accurately document referral and intake information in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Collaborate with nurse navigators and the clinical team to facilitate timely access to care for patients

What you will need:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred
  • Experience: 2+ years of healthcare scheduling, intake, or oncology-related experience preferred
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize a high volume of time-sensitive referrals
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly oncology terminology, preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
