Job Description




As a Security Officer - Visitor Screening in Pennington, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify badges and visitor credentials, and support a smooth check-in process for employees, contractors, and deliveries. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, security-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or lobbies by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges, managing visitor logs, and directing authorized traffic to designated areas.
  • Support dock and yard operations by checking inbound and outbound shipments, confirming driver credentials, and documenting trailer and seal information per site policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate site contacts as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, production areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience - preferred.
  • Loss Prevention - preferred.
  • Guard Card/License - preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet - preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience - preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
