The Referral Technician is responsible for creating and keying new patient referrals and uploading medical records into Epic within designated timeframes. This role is responsible for completing data entry tasks and managing assigned workqueues. The position requires working within multiple systems simultaneously to ensure accurate and timely processing. The role will also include answering incoming and outgoing phone queues as needed to support departmental operations.

Job Status: PRN, As needed basis per department needs. (PRN employees are classified as non-exempt employees who are not eligible for benefits. PRN staff are not guaranteed hours but can work up to 40 hours per week when shifts are available.)
Shift:This is a PRN position scheduled on an as needed basis. Hours will vary Monday through Friday.
(Training for this position can take up to 3 weeks and will require you to work one full week for orientation and training. Training will take place on M-F between 7:30am and 5:30pm. The exact dates and times will be provided in advance.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Transcribes information for new patient referrals and uploads supporting documents.
* Effectively and efficiently utilizes hospital technology while following clinical and departmental procedures.
* Monitors and processes electronic work queues.
* Effectively utilizes correct ICD 10 codes and procedures that will ensure referral documents are indexed with a 98% quality rate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degrees
High School Diploma or Equivalent. - Experience
One (1) year of experience working in a medical facility, preferably in a Revenue Cycle Department.
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hourly Range: $17.40 to $26.09
