We have an exciting opening for Accounting Assistant in Des Plaines, IL. This position will perform a variety of accounts receivable, collections, and credit functions to meet monthly deadlines and month end closings. While also assisting accounting personnel with general accounting duties and projects.

We're looking for team players to provide our customers with high-quality products, systems and services across a wide range of industries. By joining our team, you'll have the chance to develop yourself and explore different opportunities within the Company.

Your responsibilities

  • Apply daily cash and ACH payments to customer accounts.
  • Apply transfer IN's and OUT's to customer accounts.
  • Research and work to clear customer debits and credit balances on accounts.
  • Ensure credit requests are approved and processed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and review credit hold customer list.
  • Forward invoices and statements to customers upon request.
  • Create standard work documentation for the Order to Cash (O2C) process.
  • Train team members on cash application, debit resolution, and collections.
  • Prepare journal entries during the month end close process.
  • Maintain customer master files in system.
  • Contact customers with past due balances and work to facilitate payment in a timely manner.
  • Work together with Customer Service Centers, multiple Parker divisions, and Parker field sales force on AR activities.
  • Provide world class customer service with respect to all customer requests.
  • Work with Corporate Credit to help establish and maintain acceptable credit limits for customers.

Who we are looking for

  • High school degree or equivalent. Associate degree (Preferred)
  • 3 or more years of experience in the areas of accounts receivable, collections and credit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.

Don't include subjective requirements (e.g. fun, energetic, must love...)

Ideally, you will also have

  • Above average communication skills, allowing for clear and accurate oral and written information exchange.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Must be able to work and participate in a team environment.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $21.69/hr to $36.15/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
