If you enjoy relationship-driven sales, take pride in excellent service, and like being at the intersection of business growth, banking solutions, and teamwork, this role offers a chance to make a real impact-both for your customers and for Bank Five Nine. As a Business Banking Specialist, you will thrive in this role if you genuinely enjoy working with business owners, understanding how their businesses run, and helping them find smarter, more efficient ways to manage their money. You are someone who likes building relationships, spotting opportunities, and being seen as a trusted financial partner-not just a service provider. This role blends sales, service, and problem-solving, so it's ideal for someone who likes variety in their day and feels energized by balancing customer conversations with behind-the-scenes coordination. We might be a good match if you can...
- Build trust quickly. You're comfortable starting conversations (even cold ones), asking thoughtful questions, and turning those conversations into long-term relationships.
- Connect needs to solutions. You enjoy listening for pain points and matching them with the right banking and cash management products.
- Explain financial products clearly. You can take complex ideas-like ACH, merchant services, or remote deposit capture-and make them easy to understand.
- Collaborate across teams. You work well with lenders, retail teams, wealth management, and cash management partners to deliver the right solution at the right time.
- Stay organized in a fast-moving environment. You're detail-oriented, follow through on referrals, and keep multiple priorities moving without dropping the ball.
- Uphold integrity. You take compliance, ethics, and risk management seriously and do the right thing even when no one is watching.
You will be responsible for duties that include:
- Developing and deepening relationships with business clients to support their growth and retention.
- Identifying cross-sell opportunities that genuinely benefit customers.
- Talking with customers about cash management tools, digital banking, merchant services, and fraud prevention.
- Being the "go-to" resource for business clients when questions or issues arise.
- Training customers so they feel confident using banking tools independently.
- Solving problems and following issues through to resolution.
- Learning the ins and outs of cash management and stepping in as backup support for senior advisors.
- Improving processes and helping make banking easier-for both customers and teammates.
- Spending time in sales and service responsibilities, such as: growing relationships, uncovering opportunities, and helping customers access the right mix of business banking and cash management services, as well as supporting customers with account changes, troubleshooting, training, fraud assistance, and ongoing cash management needs.
- Providing administrative and operational support, such as: ensuring accuracy, compliance, risk reviews, and operational excellence while serving as backup support for key cash management roles.
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Banking
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in retail banking with an emphasis on account opening, product/service problem resolution and relationship development
- Proficient with MS Office products including Word and Excel
Preferred Education and Experience
