Salary
$100,172 - $130,000 annually: (Final offer based on experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and role alignment. Additional non-recurring compensation may apply.)
Overview
Metronome is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to support a fast-paced, mission-focused development environment. This role supports both cloud and edge infrastructure, emphasizing automation, scalability, and reliability across AWS and on-premise systems. The ideal candidate brings strong Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code experience, with exposure to big data environments.
Key Responsibilities
Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, with a focus on EKS Support deployment of non-cloud (edge) infrastructure, including on-premise and portable systems Automate infrastructure and application deployment processes Manage and maintain Kubernetes environments and AWS cloud infrastructure Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into existing infrastructure Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production system issues Continuously improve tooling, processes, reliability, and system performance Stay current with emerging DevOps technologies and best practices Perform other duties as assigned
5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development Strong AWS experience (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) Kubernetes and container orchestration expertise Linux systems administration and troubleshooting Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible CI/CD pipeline development and automation Scripting and programming experience (Python, Bash, or Go) Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management Familiarity with Git, Flux, and modern DevOps toolchains Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies Ability to work onsite 2-3 days per week in a hybrid environment
Certifications (Preferred / Required)
Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Diode, Terraform, and advanced EKS implementations
