THE POSITION

Are you a caring, compassionate, and friendly person who would enjoy working with seniors to brighten their day while providing vital assistance? Wayne County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is seeking a County Social Services Aide 1 to deliver direct care to older adults and individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.

This is a small center that provides respite to family members that are caring for their loved ones. If you are searching for a rewarding career path which offers opportunities for personal and professional growth, this may be the position for you!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The person in this position will provide a variety of services to clientele of the center. Such services include personal care, taking and recording vitals, serving snacks and meals, feeding assistance, planning and providing recreational activities, assisting with ambulation, and oversight.

The person in this position will also become familiar with each individual client, participate in their care planning and treatment goals, and be aware of policies and regulations.

On the job training is provided and close supervision from a Licensed Practical Nurse.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours will vary based on the needs of the consumers.
  • Travel and overtime may be required to attend meetings and trainings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening and medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
