  • UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region's only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • Order and pick up medications from the Pharmacy.
  • Stock carts with needed medications.
  • Require knowledge of generic and brand names for all pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintainmedications within their expiration date and properly dispose of expired medications.
  • Stock and clean all assigned areas daily. Stock, clear, and replace all anesthesia equipmentand supplies as necessary.
  • Participate in room turnover, assuring minimal downtime between cases.
  • Perform decontamination of areas after each case. Remove and replace anesthesia circuitsand suction. Change the soda lime canister as needed.
  • Set up special monitoring lines for cases.
  • Coordinate basic upkeep and maintenance of anesthesia machine with Biomedical personnel.
  • Obtain and prepare equipment for the transport of critically ill patients.
  • Maintain all specialty carts in the department.
  • Maintain daily log of refrigerator temperatures in workrooms in Main OR, Day Surgery, and OB.
  • Adhere to guidelines provided by MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) on hazardousmaterials and supplies.
  • Recognize, adhere to, and be knowledgeable of the Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ordering supplies and keeping inventory.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies.
